Welcome to the Virginia Student and Refurbishment (VA STAR) Digital Badge Pilot program. You can take part in this innovative pilot program earning digital badges that can increase your online resume and web presence as you build useful workforce development skills. Think of these badges and stepping stones towards a industry standard certification such as IC3, CompTIA Fundamentals and CompTIA A+ Core.

What are Digital Badges?

They are a validated indicator of accomplishment, skill or interest that can be earned in various learning environments. The VA STAR badges are not much different than Boy Scot merit badges earned for canoeing, archery and orienteering but are not made of cloth or medal pins but are virtual icons that represent skills masters in fours levels or hardware, software, leadership and membership within the VA STAR program.
